Massive fire destroys home in Lower Springbank area west of Calgary

Just after 10 Saturday morning Emergency and Fire Crews were called to the lower Springbank neighborhood.

A home has been destroyed by a massive fire in Lower Springbank in Rocky View County west of Calgary, firefighters say.

Emergency crews were called in just after 10 a.m. for the fire off Highway 1 south of Old Banff Coach Road.

The home is in the area of Horizon View Road and Rosewood Drive.

Multiple units from Rocky View County Fire Services responded to the blaze.

The smoke was seen from multiple parts of Calgary, with many 660 NewsRadio listeners calling the station to report the fire.

Fire crews tell CityNews no injuries have been reported and an investigation is underway.

There were delays on the Trans Canada Highway approaching Highway 22 due to the fire.
