Chestermere RCMP investigate hit and run that injured mother, daughter, and family dog

RCMP in Chestermere are looking for the driver of a Cadillac that hit a mother, daughter, and their family dog before speeding away Tuesday night.

Police say around 9:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the corner of Paradise Road and Wildermere Drive for reports of a hit-and-run involving two women and a dog.

A mother and daughter were out for a walk with the family dog when they were hit by a vehicle, according to RCMP.

The dog, a small Cockapoo named Joey, was dragged by the suspect vehicle as it left the scene.

The women received minor injuries in the incident.

Investigators are now looking for a black Cadillac SUV with tinted windows, possible an XT6 model, 2015 or newer. The licence plate may start with the letter ‘B.’

Police also want to speak to the driver.

Joey eventually found his way home, according to RCMP. He was injured and immediately taken to the vet.
