One day after police laid murder charges in the disappearance of a Calgary man last summer, investigators claim another person was involved.
Forty-five-year-old Ali Samir El-Sayed has been charged with accessory after the fact for murder in the case of 37-year-old Christopher Stevenson, who police believe was killed last August.
On Thursday, Shaun Alexander Folk, 47, was charged with second-degree murder in Stevenson’s death.
Calgary police began investigating after Stevenson was last seen entering a building in the east end of downtown Calgary on Aug. 24, 2023.
The nearly year-long investigation included searching a home in downtown Calgary and a rural property in Rocky View County, police say.
El-Sayed is set to appear in court on Monday, Aug. 26.
Calgary Police Services (CPS) says officers are dedicated to the investigtion and believe there are other people with information about Stevenson’s murder.
Polkice believe more charges will be laid in this case in the coming days or weeks.
