Driver sought in SW Calgary hit-and-run that left man seriously hurt

Police are trying to find the driver of a black Nissan after a hit-and-run in southwest Calgary that left a man with serious injuries last month.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of 14 Street SW and 25 Avenue SW around 3 a.m. on July 14 for reports of an injured man on the road.

Investigators believe the man was walking east across 14 Street at a crosswalk when he was hit by vehicle that was heading southbound. The man was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police say witnesses told them they saw a black car driving south shortly after the time of the collision. Officers found the piece of a black bumper in the area and they think it came off the suspect vehicle.

Investigators now say security and dashcam footage confirm they are lookin for a 2018 to 2021 black Nissan Maxima. Police believe the car has front end damage.

CPS have released a stock photo of a similar car and are urging anyone who has information to contact them at 403-266-1234, or CrimeStoppers anonymously.
