Third person charged in suspected murder of Calgary man last August

A third person has been charged in the suspected murder of a Calgary man last year.

Twenty-six-year old Kenedee Christine Taylor was arrested Wednesday and is now facing a second-degree murder charge in relation to the death of 37-year-old Christopher Stevenson.

Stevenson went missing in August 2023 after entering an apartment building on the east end of downtown, according to police.

Investigators eventually found his truck outside the city and his dog roaming the area nearby, leading them to believe he was a victim of foul play.

Last week, Calgary police charged 47-year-old Shaun Alexander Folk with second degree murder, and 45-year-old Ali Samir El-Sayed with accessory after the fact for murder.

“The investigation into the death of Christopher is still active and ongoing,” Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit said in a statement. “We want to provide answers to Christopher’s family and loved ones, and we will continue to gather evidence and speak to individuals who may have information regarding the murder of Christopher.”

Taylor is set to appear in court on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

El-Sayed appeared in court earlier this week, as did Folk.
