Calgary Transit begins updated fall bus schedule

Calgary Transit’s updated bus schedule has arrived on time this Labour Day Monday, and it’s now active for the upcoming fall season.

The seasonal change is part of its review of routes and schedules throughout the year.

One of these changes includes the On Demand transit service being introduced to new communities, including Ambleton, Glacier Ridge, Sage Hill, and the University of Calgary’s Spy Hill Campus. This change started on Aug. 18.

Transit says routes in the northwest, which were influenced by public feedback, are supposed to “improve connectivity” in the Bow River corridor, and introduce service to Rockland Park via Route 134, renamed from South Silver Springs.

The changes include:

  • Route 26 – Sarcee Trail Crosstown is a new route connecting the Red Line Tuscany Station to the Blue Line Westbrook Station via Tuscany, Bowness, Sarcee Trail SW, and Bow Trail SW.
  • Route 134 – South Silver Springs is being renamed to Route 134 – Rockland Park and will be realigned from Crowfoot Station to Rockland Park via Nose Hill Drive NW
  • Route 115 – Symons Valley Parkway will be extended eastward to connect to North Pointe Terminal via 144 Avenue N and 1 Street NE/Harvest Hills Boulevard N

School service is also back up and running, and new routes have been introduced.

Those are the new Route 26 – Sarcee Trail Crosstown, and new routes for Route 115 – Symons Valley Parkway, Route 120 – Silver Springs, and Route 134 – Rockland Park.

Service changes have also been made to 44 routes throughout the city.

The full list of changes, along with additional information, can be found online.
