Alberta Biodiversity fest at Calgary Zoo
The third annual Alberta Biodiversity Festival is happening Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with admission included in the entry ticket pricing.
Every year, the program provides plenty of learning opportunities and hands-on family-friendly activities.
This year, the zoo has teamed up with the Bow Habitat Station to offer a special water-themed festival.
Laura Glick, manager of conservation education, says it will allow people to learn about species that they might overlook.
“What I find most fascinating about it is we often get really excited about things that … we see in other places. We go on vacation, but we sometimes forget about all the things that are in our backyard. And that could be because we think, ‘Oh, I can go there later,’ or, ‘I don’t get out there that often.’ So it’s a great way to show the diversity in our province,” she said.
The festival is from Sept 6-8 and at the Bow Habitat Station on Sept. 14.
