First week of fall brings summer-like temperatures to Calgary

Fall has arrived in Calgary, according to the calendar, but the thermometer has it looking more like summer this week.

The first day of autumn on Sunday, marked by the fall equinox at 6:44 a.m., saw a temperature of 21.9 C.

The forecasted high for Monday is 23 C, followed by 27 C on Tuesday, and 28 C on Wednesday.

Temperatures will get closer to seasonal ahead of the weekend, with 19 C forecasted for Thursday and Friday, 15 C on Saturday, and 12 C on Sunday.

The normal high for this time of year, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada, is 16 C. The normal low is 2 C.
