Police say two people found dead at a home in southeast Calgary over the weekend were victims of a murder-suicide.

Calgary police say officers were called to a home in the community of Penbrooke Meadows around 11:30 a.m. Sunday for reports of a disturbance.

Officers arrived to find two people dead.

Investigators say an autopsy confirmed one of the deceased killed the other before killing themselves.

Police are not sharing the names of those involved to protect the identity of a child at the home. The child is safe and is being cared for by family.
