By News Staff

A murder suspect out on bail is wanted after she allegedly assaulted a police officer while resisting arrest before fleeing, Mounties say.

Wetaskiwin RCMP say Talsa Ashlee Cardinal, 31, was seen by officers breaching her release order on Saturday. When police tried to arrest her, she allegedly assaulted them and fled.

The resident of Wetaskiwin was released with a 24-hour curfew on a release order for first-degree murder issued by the Edmonton Police Service on March 29.

She is now wanted for assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and failure to comply with a release order.

Cardinal is described as five-foot-eight, weighing 145 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

Wetaskiwin RCMP is asking anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact them at 80-312-7267 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Wetaskiwin is about 70 kilometres south of Edmonton.
