CTrain service resumes in downtown Calgary after pedestrian struck by train

CTrain service has resumed in downtown Calgary after a pedestrian was hit by a train on Tuesday evening.
Police tell CityNews a person was struck by a train near City Hall station at 7 Avenue SE and 3 Street SE around 5:30 p.m.
The person was hit by a Red Line train that was travelling northbound from Victoria Park/Stampede station and coming out of the tunnel near the Central Library.
When emergency crews arrived they found the victim under the train, but police say they were not hit by the train wheels.
The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
Calgary Transit had initially shut down all CTrain stations along 7 Avenue with shuttle buses running in their place. The stations reopened before 8 p.m.
