Suspects sought after targeted double shooting in NW Calgary

By CityNews Staff

Police are looking for suspects after a targeted double shooting in northwest Calgary on Wednesday night.

Calgary police say officers were called to a home on Nolan Hill Drive NW around 9:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

Investigators say two victims made their own way to hospital before police arrived.

Police are calling it an “organized-crime related shooting” and believe it was planned and targeted, alleging the suspects were waiting for the victims to arrive.

The suspects fled the area in a white Mazda SUV, according to police, and say a vehicle with the same descriptions was found on fire north of the city shortly after the shooting.

“While we are still in the very early hours of this investigation, we believe there are witnesses and people with information who have not yet spoken with police,” says Staff Sgt. Ben Lawson of the CPS Organized Crime Operations Unit.

Anyone with information, or who may have security footage of the area, are being urged to contact police.
