The Thursday morning commute was slow for Calgarians on the west side of the city to a closure on a major ring road.

Stoney Trail was closed in both directions at 17 Avenue SW due to a collision for several hours.

Southbound Stoney Trail reopened to traffic at 17 Avenue SW around 10:15 a.m., according to the city, and northbound Stoney Trail reopened around noon.

A City of Calgary traffic report indicates the incident happened around 5:30 a.m.

Traffic was disrupted in the area for much of the morning.
