Calgary man accused of stealing school bus, purposely hitting cyclist

A Calgary man has been charged for stealing a school bus twice and hitting a cyclist with it.
Calgary police say a man stole a school bus from a parking lot on 48 Street SE on Thursday, Nov. 14 before ditching it later in the day.
Three days later, on Sunday, Nov. 17, the man broke into a parking lot on Highfield Avenue SE and stole the same bus again.
Police reviewed security footage where they saw the man driving the bus recklessly and deliberately hitting a cyclist near Edmonton Trail NE and 36 Avenue NE before leaving the scene.
The cyclist was left with serious, life-threatening injuries.
Officers found the bus abandoned early in the morning on Nov. 18 in a parking lot on 9 Avenue SE.
Twenty-year-old Andrew John Martyn Wilson, is charged with aggravated assault, break and enter to commit motor vehicle theft, theft of a motor vehicle, failure to remain at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, and failure to comply with court orders.
There were no passengers on the bus during any of these incidents, according to police.
Investigators say the cyclist is continuing to recover from their injuries.
