A man has been charged in the murder of a Calgary man earlier this year and tried to run from officers sent to arrest him for it.
Forty-one-year-old Chad McKinnon of Strathmore is the third person to be charged in connection to the death of 33-year-old Kyle Schuiling.
Schuiling’s body was discovered in April when crews responded to a grass fire in Rocky View County.
Calgarian Christopher Stack, 39, was charged with first-degree murder in May.
Tyler Griffiths, 37, of Vernon, B.C., is also charged with first-degree murder.
RCMP and Calgary police located McKinnon south of Langdon on Monday. When officers tried to arrest him, he fled in a white sedan and damaged two police vehicles.
Officers involved in the incident also suffered minor injuries.
McKinnon is charged with accessory after the fact to murder in connection to Schuiling’s death, as well as dangerous driving, flight from police, fail to comply with a probation order, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without holding a subsisting operator’s license.
He was taken into custody and set to appear in court on Thursday.
