Semi-truck rollover on Deerfoot causes afternoon delays

Drivers were faced with delays on northbound Deerfoot Trail in northeast Calgary on Wednesday afternoon after a large truck rolled over on the highway.

Drivers were faced with delays on northbound Deerfoot Trail in northeast Calgary on Wednesday afternoon after a large truck rolled over on the highway.

Emergency crews were called to the northbound lanes of Deerfoot approaching Airport Trail NE around 1:40 p.m. for reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Images from the scene showed a tractor-trailer on its side blocking multiples northbound lanes of the highway.

No injures were reported.

Calgary police tell CityNews road conditions are believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Only one northbound lane was open to traffic for several hours and motorists were faced with long delays.

The northbound lanes reopened around 5:15 p.m.
