RCMP conclude investigation into neighbour’s complaint involving Calgary police chief’s wife

The RCMP have concluded an investigating into a complaint involving the Calgary Police Service chief’s wife after an alleged dispute with a neighbour.

Multiple sources who contacted 660 NewsRadio said the complaint was made against CPS chief Mark Neufeld’s wife and the trimming of trees in a neighbour’s yard in early December.

The neighbour reported the chief’s wife to Calgary police and the file was referred to the RCMP to look at.

The Calgary Police Service says in a statement it received a complaint, and then deferred to RCMP to handle the investigation to ensure there was no bias or conflict of interest.

“We can confirm that a complaint was received by CPS in relation to the trimming of a tree in a neighbouring yard,” the statement reads. “Permission had previously been sought and given, but appears to have been retracted after the fact and a complaint was made to CPS.”

In January, the RCMP confirmed they concluded their file and no charges were pursued.
