Police say the suspect in a reported hit and run that killed two dogs in southern Alberta over the weekend has turned themselves into RCMP, and investigators no longer believe the collision was intentional.
RCMP reached out to the public on Monday in search of a white sedan with front-end damage,
Officers believed at the time the driver deliberately ran over two dogs in a southern Alberta hamlet.
Police say around 10 a.m. Sunday, the car was driving west on Railway Avenue in Bindloss, about an hour south of Oyen.
Witnesses reported it was accelerating and swerving off the road before “intentionally striking” and killing two white Great Pyrenees dogs.
In an update on Tuesday, RCMP say the driver tried to contact the owner following the crash.
