Foothills County man wins $2.5M in lottery draw

A Foothills County man says he’s still in shock about his massive lottery win just before Christmas.

“When the clerk first told me I won $250,000, I said, ‘I won’t believe it until I see it [in the bank],'” said Allen Briggs, from Turner Valley. “When I found out I had actually won $2,500,000, I said the same thing.”

He took home $2.5 million on the LOTTO 6/49 Dec. 21 draw.

Briggs says he hasn’t made any plans for his new cash, but hopes to help out some people he loves.

“Mostly, I just want life to continue the way it is,” he explained. “But I might pay off a couple mortgages — for our kids!””

Briggs bought his winning ticket at the Fas Gas in Longview.
