1 stabbed in NE Calgary home invasion, no suspects: police

    UP NEXT:

A busy night for Calgary firefighters as they battled two fires in the city’s northeast – one at a strip mall and one in a residential neighbourhood.

Four people have been displaced after a fire in a northeast Calgary garage spread to an RV and a neighbouring home Wednesday night.

Calgary Fire Department (CFD) Battalion Chief Alistair Robin says crews were called to Temple Drive NE around 10:30 p.m., after people in the community spotted flames and smoke coming from an alleyway.

He explains the fire travelled across the alley to an adjacent home, damaging the fence and the house itself.

“The siding on the home facing the garage was impacted and the fire did actually get into the roof structure of the house a little bit,” Robin added. “The two occupants upstairs and two downstairs safely evacuated, but were displaced for the night and will likely be displaced for a little bit longer.”

Repairs to the house will likely be sufficient, he says, but the garage and RV are a total loss.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the blaze.
