Double hit-and-run at Grey Eagle Casino left two people with life-altering injuries

The Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service is asking for the public's help to investigate a double hit-and-run that left two pedestrians with life-altering injuries near the Grey Eagle Casino last month.

Police are looking for a car involved in a double hit-and-run outside Grey Eagle Casino just west of Calgary that left two people with life-altering injuries.

Emergency crews were called to the casino around 8:20 p.m. on Jan. 10 after reports of two people being struck by a vehicle.

Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service (TNPS) say two people were hit by a red 2003 Honda Accord as they were leaving the casino.

The pair were rushed to hospital in serious condition. TNPS say both suffered life-altering injuries and one is still in hospital.

The driver left the area without stopping, according to police.

Investigators found the suspect vehicle the next day in the community of Langdon.

“At this time, police have made multiple attempts to contact the registered owner of the vehicle but have not yet been able to establish their involvement or
whereabouts,” reads a TNPS release.

“The registered owner has not reported the vehicle as stolen and has not cooperated or responded to police inquiries.”

Anyone who saw the car before or after the crash, or anyone who knows the identity of the driver, are being urged to contact police at 403-271-3777, or submit tips to CrimeStoppers anonymously.
