A 40-year-old Calgary man was found guilty of raping a 90-year-old woman in her seniors residence apartment, four years after the attack.
Duran Ross Buffalo, appearing in court Friday, was found guilty of both aggravated sexual assault, and break-and-enter to commit sexual assault after the jury deliberated for an hour.
Police said it happened on Jan. 1, 2021, in her apartment along 31 Street NW near Confederation Park.

According to multiple reports on the trial, Calgary police disputed the victim’s claims, instead blaming her dementia and sending her to get an inspection for a bladder infection.
But after Buffalo’s shirt was found in her apartment, a rape kit exam was conducted, leading to his arrest in February.
The initial 911 phone call the victim made to police was also revealed to jurors on Monday.
The victim died last year, while Buffalo is to be sentenced at a later date.
