Man sent to hospital after shooting between vehicles in NE Calgary

A man was rushed to hospital in critical condition after a shooting between two vehicles in northeast Calgary.

Emergency crews were called to 38 Street NE, just south of Country Hills Blvd, around 4:30 p.m. Sunday for reports of a shooting.

Calgary police say shots were fired between two vehicles.

One man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and his condition has since been upgraded to stable. No other injuries have been reported.

Responding officers stopped a vehicle and took one suspect into custody. Police are still looking into whether other suspects were involved in the shooting.

Investigators believe the incident was targeted and don’t believe there is a threat to public safety.

The investigation is ongoing.
