Airdrie RCMP are investigating after a dog owner was injured after trying to break up a dog attack in Airdrie.

RCMP in Airdrie say a person was hurt after trying to fend off a pack of dogs who attacked their dog on an afternoon walk.
Police say just after 3 p.m., officers were called to the area of 8 Street NW and Silver Springs Way for reports of a dog attack.
According to investigators, an Airdrie resident was walking their small dog when the animal was attacked by four large dogs.
The owner of the small dog tried to intervene and was injured, police add.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and the four dogs were seized by Airdrie Municipal Enforcement.
RCMP say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
