Cochrane RCMP have closed a highway northwest of Calgary on Friday afternoon due to a large truck rollover and spill.

After closing a highway northwest of Calgary on Friday due to a large truck rollover and spill, Cochrane RCMP reopened it Saturday morning.

Officers say it happened around noon when a propane truck rolled over on Highway 1A between Woodland Road and Lochend Road, north of Bearspaw.

The highway closed in both directions and traffic couldn’t move through the area. Drivers were asked to take a different route.

There are no injuries, but responders dealt with a spill that took several hours to clean.

Mounties reopened the road at around 7 a.m.
