Three charged in armed NE Calgary liquor store robbery

Three people face criminal charges after an early-morning robbery at a liquor store in northeast Calgary Friday.

Calgary police Staff Sgt. Mike Sushelnitsky says the arrests happened less than an hour after the crime.

Just after 12:30 a.m., officers were called to Payless Liquor, located on 18 Avenue NE.

Investigators say three masked offenders armed with edged weapons helped themselves to several bottles of liquor in the store.

A short time later, the trio was found by police a few blocks away.

No one was injured in the incident.
