A Calgary man has been charged in connection with two sexual assaults in Central Memorial Park earlier this month.

Investigators say around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 7, a woman was walking her dog through the park at 12 Avenue and 4 Street SW, when a man came up to her and asked to pet her dog.

Police allege he then touched the woman “aggressively” without her consent. The woman was able to push the man away and leave the area.

However, as she was leaving, she apparently saw him approach another woman who was walking a large, white dog in the park, before allegedly touching her without consent.

Investigators say the second woman hasn’t come forward, and investigators want to speak with her.

Police have now charged 36-year-old Garrett Williams Chard with one count of sexual assault.

Anyone with information about this incident are being asked to contact police at 403-266-1234, or tip anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
