One person is fighting for their life and another is suffering from life-altering injuries after a vehicle rollover on Deerfoot Trail in southeast Calgary Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the southbound lanes of Deerfoot near 212 Avenue SE around 2:40 p.m. for reports of a single-vehicle rollover crash.
In an update Saturday, police say a white 2008 GMC Savana van driven by a man in his 30s was travelling southbound on Deerfoot Trail when it suddenly drifted onto the centre median, causing the diver to lose control.
It rolled up the median slope onto the roadway, crossing all lanes of southbound Deerfoot before it stopped on the right-hand shoulder.

Paramedics say two occupants were rushed to hospital, with police confirming that the driver is suffering from life-altering injuries and the passenger, a man in his 30s, is in life-threatening condition.
Excessive speed and impairment have been ruled out as factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
Southbound Deerfoot Trail was closed from Seton Boulevard SE to the south of 212 Avenue SE for several hours. The road reopened before 9 p.m.
