    Calgary Police are looking into a stabbing that took place Friday night in downtown.

    A man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was stabbed in downtown Calgary on Friday night.

    Emergency crews were called to a Tim Horton’s on 4 Street SE south of 7 Avenue SE around 8:50 p.m. for reports of someone in medical distress.

    Calgary police say the restaurant staff called 911 after finding a man hurt in the bathroom. Responding officers learned that the victim was stabbed in the back.

    He was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition where he underwent emergency surgery. Police say the victim remains in critical condition.

    Investigators have reviewed security footage of the area and have identified a suspect.

    The suspect is described as a man wearing a black hoodie with a white logo with writing on the back. He was also wearing white shoes and grey pants with a black shoulder bag.

    The investigation is ongoing.
