Teen arrested after officers seize drugs, cash from Red Deer home: RCMP

A teen is facing charges after police seized drugs and cash from a home in Red Deer earlier this month.

Red Deer RCMP say officers executed a search warrant on a home in the city’s Rosedale neighbourhood on March 19.

During the search, officers seized around 800 grams of cocaine, packing materials, a digital scale and around $14,495 in cash.

A 16-year-old who was at the home at the time was allegedly found with 16 pre-packaged bags of cocaine and 2 spitballs of cocaine. They were arrested at the scene and charged with drug possession, proceeds of crime over $5,000, and possession of illegal government documents.

The teen cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They are scheduled to appear in court in April.
