A Calgary Police Service dog was deployed to help bring two people into custody after a man was reported pointing a firearm in the southeast Forest Lawn area, officers say.
It happened just after noon around the 1800 block of 40 Street near 17 Avenue SE.
Officers say a call came in about a man pointing a firearm in the area. After containing the area, they took two individuals into custody.
They add a police service dog “made contact with one of the offenders,” though they offered no details.
Officers say the person the service dog made contact with was taken to hospital with minor injuries for “precautionary reasons.”
Charges are currently pending.
