Transformer explodes in SE Calgary, temporarily leaving thousands without power

Several Calgary communities were left without power early Monday morning after a transformer blew.

Calgary police say it happened around 2:15 a.m.

At least 3,000 homes and businesses in Ramsey, Ogden, Inglewood, Downtown East, Bridgeland, Renfrew, and Highfield were impacted.

ENMAX posted to social media just before 4:45 a.m. that power had been restored to the area.
