Things to do in Calgary during the Easter long weekend

The Easter long weekend is here, and there’s lots to do around the city!
Keep in mind, some places will be closed to to the holiday. What’s open and closed in Calgary can be found here.
The Calgary Zoo/Wilder Institute is hosting an easter eggstravaganza all weekend long.
Treat stations will be set up where kids can collect candy, and even watch the animals indulge in some treats of their own.
Speaking of treats for animals, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs in Calaway Park’s south field with National Service Dogs on Good Friday starting at 10 a.m.
Puppies will be able to sniff out thousands of colourful eggs hidden around the park, and they’ll even get a gift bag too!
All proceeds raised during the event will go directly to National Service Dogs, according to Calaway Park.
Those looking for a more scheduled Easter event can register for Heritage Park’s Easter Tea event.
It will be held at the Famous 5 Centre of Canadian Women from April 18 to 20, and an Easter Sunday brunch on April 20 will also be held.
The Gasoline Alley Museum there will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. all weekend.
Restaurants
Aside from all of the chocolate eggs that will be served up this weekend, many restaurants in Calgary will serve brunch, including Heritage Park, the Calgary Zoo and the Valley Ridge Golf Club.
Transportation
Calgary transit said it will adjust their service hours during the weekend. Buses, CTrains, and On Demand will run on a Sunday level of service on Good Friday.
The Red Line will be closed between Sunnyside and University stations from Friday to Monday. People wanting to go between the Sunnyside and Brentwood stations will be able to take shuttles instead, and three-car trains will be running.
