Rollover crash on Memorial Drive left one person trapped; police investigating

One person was left trapped after a rollover crash on Calgary’s Memorial Drive on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the eastbound lanes of Memorial at the Deerfoot Trail ramps around 2:05 p.m. for reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

The Calgary Fire Department (CFD) says one vehicle ended up on its side and a person was trapped inside. A passerby was able to help the person out of the vehicle before they needed to be extricated.

There were up to three vehicles involved in the crash, according to CFD. Two people were assessed for injuries at the scene, but no one was taken to hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

The collision caused major delays on eastbound Memorial through the afternoon until the crash was cleared around 3:50 p.m.
