Woman arrested after hit-and-run crash that left motorcyclist seriously hurt: CPS

A woman is in custody and police are investigating after a hit-and-run crash in Calgary on Wednesday afternoon that left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.
Emergency crews were called to Macleod Trail and 53 Avenue SW just before 3 p.m. for reports of a collision.
Calgary police say a motorcycle was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital in serious and potentially life-threatening injuries, according to paramedics.
A woman was taken into custody a short time later. Investigators believe she was involved in a stolen vehicle incident that led to the hit-and-run crash.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. Police are expected to share more details on Thursday.
Northbound Macleod was closed between 53 Avenue and 57 Avenue SW. The road reopened around 5 p.m.
