A teenage boy who was hit by a vehicle while skateboarding in Calgary’s northwest last week has died, police say.
Calgary police say just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, officers were called to the intersection of Hunterview Drive NW and Hunterbrook Road NW for reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.
Investigators say a 2011 Buick Enclave, driven by a 79-year-old woman, was travelling south on Hunterview Drive NW, approaching the intersection with Hunterbrook Road NW.
At the same time, a 17-year-old boy on a skateboard entered the intersection from Hunterbrook Road NW, when he was hit by the Buick.
The driver stayed at the scene and wasn’t injured.
Excessive speed, drugs, and alcohol aren’t considered to be factors in this collision.
