Nagar Kirtan is a Sikh religious procession highlighted by singing and chanting as devotees walk alongside sacred floats and organizers say it is a celebration for all.

With a budget of over $700,000 dollars, planning for the event started in early October, and according to organizer Gurprit Sidhu, it is a labour of love.

“We are excited for the event, and we also want to invite the other communities in the other parts of the city of Calgary,” he tells CityNews.
