Girl struck by CTrain in SE Calgary; Anderson Station reopened

Anderson LRT Station in the southeast has been shut down after a girl was hit by a train, Friday afternoon.

A girl was taken to hospital after being hit by a CTrain in southeast Calgary on Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to Anderson LRT station around 3:30 p.m. after reports that a pedestrian was hit by a train.

Calgary police say initially a woman suffered unknown injuries, but later updated that a girl had been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anderson Station was closed as police investigated, but Calgary Transit said shuttle buses would run to take Red Line passengers between Southland and Fish Creek stations while the closure was in place.

It reopened at around 8 p.m. Friday.
