Calgary police are looking for help from the public to identify a man and a vehicle involved in a case of road rage last week.

Investigators say on Tuesday, May 13, around 3:40 p.m., a family was travelling in a blue-green 2022 Ford Maverick pick-up on westbound Stoney Trail SW near Tsuut’ina Trail SW. At the time, they believed they were being tailgated by a man driving a 2021 or newer model black Nissan Pathfinder SUB with dark-tinted windows and black rims.

The driver of the truck pulled over on Stoney and 162 Avenue SW, hoping the SUV would pass them, according to police. Instead, the man parked behind the truck and got out of his vehicle. The driver of the truck also exited his vehicle, and a fight between the pair ensued.

Another motorist saw the altercation and stopped to help, police say. It was at this time that both men got back into their vehicles. When the victim drove away, investigators say the suspect continued to follow him, at which time he reported the incident to 911.

The victim drove to a fast-food restaurant on Shawville Boulevard SE to wait for police. Investigators say the SUV was last seen travelling on Everstone Drive SW.

Investigators are looking for anyone who may have seen the incident or has dashcam footage from May 13.

Specifically, police want footage from westbound Stoney Trail SW near Tsuut’ina Trail SW between 3:30 and 3:45 p.m. and Stoney Trail SW at 162nd Avenue SW to Everstone Drive SW between 3:30 and 4 p.m.

Investigators describe the suspect as a man in his 40s or 50s, 6’5″ tall, with an olive complexion, a slim build, short salt and pepper hair, and a beard. He was also wearing business attire, including a suit vest.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage related to this incident is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or tip anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
