Crews battle structure fire in SE Calgary industrial area

Crews are battling a structure fire in an industrial area in southeast Calgary on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to a business on 42 Avenue SE, just west of Ogden Road, around 5 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the two-storey mechanical repair and parts shop with significant smoke and flames pouring from an open bay.
Smoke could be seen several kilometres away and from Deerfoot Trail.
The Calgary Fire Department responded with a second alarm due to the size and occupancy of the building.
The building was left with extensive fire damage in its centre as well as smoke damage throughout.
Crews were able to quickly search and evacuate the businesses.
All occupants were able to escape unharmed.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
