Charges laid against pair accused of drug trafficking in Medicine Hat

Two alleged drug dealers in Medicine Hat are facing several charges after police seized more than one kilogram of cocaine.
Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) made the arrests and seizures on Tuesday with help from the Medicine Hat Police Service and Redcliff RCMP.
The drugs seized have an estimated street value of $125,000.
Two homes in Medicine Hat were searched following a planned traffic stop in Redcliff.
ALERT says the drugs were found in the vehicle and the two people arrested are accused of drug trafficking in the city.
In total, ALERT seized 1,242 grams of cocaine and $9,180 cash.
Twenty-four-year-old Konnor Smith Boutlier, from Medicine Hat, is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
Melissa Gertner, 46, also from Medicine Hat, is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The pair remain in custody.
