Water quality advisory ends for children’s swim pond in Kananaskis

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has given the all clear to swim again at a pond west of Calgary.
Last week, the health agency put a water quality advisory in place for the Tim Horton Children’s Ranch swim pond in Kananaskis Country.
The advisory was put in place due to high levels of fecal bacteria found in the pond.
AHS now say there is a low health risk and the water quality, including the fecal levels, are back at an acceptable level for people to swim in the pond.
“As always, visitors and residents are reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any lake or reservoir, at any time,” reads the update from AHS.
The advisory lifting is effective immediately.
