Alcohol suspected in multi-vehicle crash that closed section of Calgary’s Deerfoot Trail

By CityNews Staff

Deerfoot Trail in southeast Calgary was closed for a few hours overnight following a multi-vehicle crash, police say.

Investigators say it happened just after 11 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of northbound Deerfoot Trail and Glenmore Trail SE.

Police closed all northbound Deerfoot Trail lanes as a result, and redirected traffic onto Glenmore Trail.

One person was taken to hospital following the crash with what are now being described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol and speed are suspected as factors in the crash, according to investigators.

Lanes reopened in the area just before 1:30 a.m.
