Circle Wednesday, Oct. 8, on your calendar.
That’s when the Calgary Flames kick off their 2025-26 campaign with the Battle of Alberta against the Oilers in Edmonton.
It’s part of a season-opening back-to-back, with the Flames visiting the Vancouver Canucks 24 hours later.
The Flames’ home opener is slated for Saturday, Oct. 11, against the St. Louis Blues, featuring a rare 2 p.m. puck drop and a day when every National Hockey League team is in action.
Other schedule highlights:
The Flames’ longest homestand, six games, comes in March, hosting St. Louis, Florida, Tampa, Los Angeles, Anaheim, and Vancouver.
There will be a traditional New Year’s Eve contest at the Saddledome, featuring the Philadelphia Flyers on Dec. 31.
Calgary’s longest road trip is a six-game stretch March 30th through April 11th with stops in Colorado, Vegas, Anaheim, Dallas, Colorado again, and ending in Seattle.
The schedule will be light in February for the 2026 Olympics in Italy, during which the league will pause.
Four Battles of Alberta are on tap: the aforementioned season opener and Dec. 23, both in the provincial capital. The Oilers are at the ‘Dome Dec. 27 and again on Feb. 4.
Calgary will play most of its games on Saturdays, 19 times, followed by 15 Thursday contests.
