Motorcyclist dead in NW Calgary crash on Stoney Trail

Calgary Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the city's northwest on Monday.

An investigation is underway after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in the city’s northwest Monday, Calgary police said.

It happened at Crowchild Trail and Stoney Trail at around 2 p.m.

There is no word on other injuries and victims.

The police traffic unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

Southbound Stoney Trail from Crowchild Trail and both eastbound and westbound Crowchild were shut down to traffic for several hours.

The roads reopened around 7 p.m.
