Suspect charged in SW Calgary stabbing that left man with life-threatening injuries

A Calgary man has been charged following a weekend stabbing in the city's southwest.

A suspect is facing charges following a stabbing over the weekend that left a man in life-threatening condition.

Calgary police say officers were called to a home on Bridlecrest Manor SW in the community of Bridlewood around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers arrived to find an injured man suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition.

The suspect left the home before police arrived.

Investigators were able to identify a male suspect who was known to the victim. He was arrested when he returned to the same home around 9 a.m.

Calgary resident Cody Lee Bruesewitz, 41, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault. He is expected to appear in a Calgary courtroom on Wednesday.
