Guns, ammo, drugs seized following arrest of Calgary man wanted on warrants

Two firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were seized when Calgary Police arrested an offender wanted on multiple outstanding warrants.

A Calgary man wanted on warrants is facing charges after police seized several guns and a large amount of ammunition following his arrest.

Calgary police’s Gun Violence Enforcement Team (GVET) began investigating in May 2025 in an effort to find a man wanted on several warrants who was known to possess several guns illegally.

Officers were able to find and arrest the suspect in August.

During the arrest, police seized nearly 12 grams of crack cocaine, more than $1,400 in cash, and two cellphones.

Following the arrest, police executed a search warrant at a home in the community of Midnapore in southeast Calgary. During the search, the following items were seized:

  • A pink 3D-printed .22-calibre handgun
  • A black 3D-printed .22-calibre handgun
  • A replica airsoft rifle
  • Multiple 3D-printed firearm parts
  • 474 morphine pills with an estimated street value of $4,740
  • 238 rounds of .22-calibre ammunition
  • 620 rounds of 7.62 ammunition

Police have charged 41-year-old Calgary resident Carl James Schuyler with several charges, including four counts of breaching an order and several outstanding warrants.

The accused will appear in court in September.
