Police reopen southbound Macleod Trail after crash clean-up, 1 sent to hospital

A major thoroughfare in Calgary was briefly closed Monday morning after a two vehicle crash sent one person to hospital.

The incident happened around 6:20 a.m. at the intersection of Macleod Trail and Glenmore Trail SE.

As a result, all lanes of southbound Macleod Trail were closed.

On ramps from eastbound Glenmore Trail to northbound Macleod Trail and from westbound Glenmore Trail to southbound Macleod Trail were also closed.

Police held the scene until the vehicles involved in the crash were removed from the area, which took less than an hour.

Traffic cameras showed significant debris on the road.

The driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital in non-life threatening condition.
