The Calgary Central Library is set to reopen Sunday after it was evacuated and shut down due to what police are calling a contained fire.
A notice from the Calgary Central Library says it will reopen on Sunday, Sept. 14, at noon, with all room bookings and events for Saturday being cancelled.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” the notice reads.
This comes after emergency crews were called to the library in the east end of downtown Calgary around 1:05 p.m. Friday for reports of a fire.
Calgary police say the fire was contained with no risk to the public.
The library was evacuated, and security guards at the scene told CityNews it would be closed for the rest of Friday.
