Calgary Transit has announced that a new convenience store will open at Bridgeland Station in mid-October.
The store, operated by INS Market, will offer a selection of snacks, beverages, and travel-related items for transit users, nearby residents, and passersby.
The addition is part of Calgary Transit’s broader initiative to improve amenities at CTrain stations. INS Market was selected through a competitive bid process earlier this year to occupy the retail space at Bridgeland.
“INS Market brings experience in convenience retail and travel-focused locations,” said Jennifer Dougherty, business strategist with Calgary Transit. “We anticipate the store will support customer needs and contribute to the overall transit experience.”
Calgary Transit says that reactivating retail spaces is a means to generate revenue and increase activity at transit properties.
INS Market operates more than 130 locations across Canada, including in office buildings, malls, hospitals, and transit hubs.
In addition to the Bridgeland store, a new café is scheduled to open at Westbrook Station later this fall. Calgary Transit plans to release further opportunities for retail development at other LRT stations as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public spaces.
